Renew Your Passion, Renew Your Life
With a large portion of the population struggling to find steady employment and another half worried about their floundering finances, it seems as if survival has become the main focus of our society. Unfortunately, finding a career or life path that ignites passion in ourselves and those around us has taken the back seat to these day to day worries.
But what if choosing a life of passion could turn the tide and create abundance where before there was none?
Embracing Self Acceptance in the Personal Growth Movement
From a very young age we teach our youth that they are perfect just the way they are. If this is fundamentally true, then where does the Personal Growth movement fit into the grand scheme of things? Aren’t we going against this concept by perpetually seeking growth and change? Not necessarily.
In order to understand the conundrum of self-acceptance vs. personal growth, it’s important to fully explore the types of changes that will bring about true and lasting happiness. Often times on this blog I speak about abundance, success, and overall fulfillment. While we all experience these concepts in different ways, the ability to experience the purest form of each of them comes from a detachment of temporary situations and ego-driven measurements.
Positive Thinking Can Be Harmful if Used Incorrectly
While positive thinking often allows us to see possibility in places where before we saw none, our minds can also use it as an escape mechanism. Instead of facing issues and situational problems head on, we skirt the issue and suppress our feelings.
So how do you ensure that positive thinking is helping you work towards what you want instead of away from what you don’t want?
Discovering Your Emotional Fitness
Avoiding tragedy is impossible- as most of us have discovered during the events that occurred over the past year.
No matter the planning, or attempts to side step certain situations, we all have to face adversity at some time in our lives.
However, if we are able to go deeper and look past the surface appearance, we discover a chance to learn, grow, and create a more meaningful existence.
Spiritual Consciousness
In our day to day lives we often pay little attention to how our actions are impacting those around us. Recognizing where our own consciousness lies may be the missing link in making a more positive impact on the world and moving forward towards a more fulfilling life.
The concept of spiritual consciousness can be attributed to a ladder. Those whose main concern is their own basic survival without any notice to those around them would be on a lower rung on that ladder. Those who are so spiritually enlightened that they have overcome their own obstacles in order to serve others would be on towards the top of the ladder. In between these polar opposites lies the vast majority of the population.
Our ability to move upwards on this ladder and towards a better life depends greatly on how we interact with others. How would you answer these questions:
Spirituality versus Religion

Contrary to popular belief, spirituality and religion are similar yet very different.
Spirituality in my mind is a connection with a higher power, whatever you call it—God, the universe, your guardian angels, a positive life force, etc.
Religion is typically organized and follows a relatively specific path of ideas and beliefs. Catholicism is a religion. Islam is a religion. Judaism is a religion.
Amazing Book: The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz
Take, for example, the book The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz, which I just recently read.
Ruiz advises his readers to set aside the negative “agreements,” or, in other words, belief systems they’ve made with themselves, others, and/or society (things like “I’m stupid” or “I’m not good enough”) in favor of following the four agreements he puts forth for attaining your highest self and happiest life.
Great ideas in theory, but sometimes things tend to be infinitely more difficult to put into practice.
Get Ready for a New You in this New Year
There is no time like the present, especially when it comes to reflecting on yourself and making lasting changes.
It is the new year, after all.
Last year, I held an unbelievable teleseminar called “New Year, New You” and it was so popular—and profound—that we’re going to repeat it again this new year.
More specifically, it’s going to be held on January 19th, 2010 at 4pm Pacific/7pm Eastern.
New Year’s Resolutions Part 2: Keeping Them

Millions upon millions of people create New Year’s Resolutions, but far fewer stick to them for more than a few days or weeks.
In fact, I came upon this interesting article:
New Year’s Resolutions Part 1: Making Them
I firmly believe—and know firsthand—that clearly setting your intentions is the single most powerful way to make them happen, and make your dreams come true in every area of your life.
Here’s how to set your intentions:
- Take your time. A common reason why New Year’s resolutions fizzle out is because people rush into setting them.
